Our little piglets were born in July. All in a-frame huts and on a few of the hottest days of the year. We lost 3 piglets, the mother got lazy and laid on them. This is why most farmers who raise outdoor pigs don’t farrow in July or August. I learned this after the fact.

Our new logo
We finally got our logo finalized for the farm. Our vision is to have everything edible on the farm, from fruit and nut trees, fruit bushes, a high tunnel for vegetable production, and of course our eggs, chicken, pork, lamb and one day soon, MILK. All chemical free.
Thanks to Izumi Studios, my sister’s talent, for the work and time to perfect what we think represents our vision.
Jòia means “jewel” in Portuguese. It also is an expression very similar to “shaka”. A loose way of saying, everything’s good.
